"I Call It My Home"

“Heartwell House is a lovely place. I call it my home. Everything is taken care of for me. I don’t have to worry about the bills, laundry, cooking, etc. I feel safe and secure here. I really like going on the day trips – we go to the park sometimes. I have good memories of when we went to Skegness and Hunstanton – we had fish and chips for our tea by the sea-side.”

"It’s Brilliant Here!"

“It’s brilliant here! We all have different mental health problems, but we have all kept our independence. The staff here help us without taking over. They prompt us if we need assistance during the day and night. One of my favourite things to do is go out for a walk and fetch my papers. I sit on my favourite bench and relax. The staff always know where I am, and I feel reassured. Although I struggle with some things, the staff at Heartwell House make sure I keep on top of my medication. The atmosphere here is very homely. We all have respect for one another and feel like part of a big family. In fact, I like it so much that I don’t want go back home – I’m so happy here.”

"Heartwell House Means Home for Me"

“Heartwell House means home for me. The food is wonderful here and there is always a good variety of home-cooked options, as well as lovely fresh fruit baskets. I would recommend Heartwell House to people who have had problems with mental health. The staff here are really good, from the carers to the cleaners – nothing is too much trouble. I love my room, which has all the special things I had in my room at my house. I can come and go when I want to, I can go to prayers and the shops. This helps me to feel like part of the community.”
